I have been having an issue with my Transmission, It appears that it having trouble engaging gears... It is an automatic transmission. Sometimes when I am in D3, when try to accelerate, only the RPM accelerate, just like the car is in neutral, other times it will be Fine. the issue always occurs if I shift into "1" and then try to accelerate

I have pulled the codes from my OBD-II port and I have received:

P0700 - Transmission Control System Malfunction
P0730 - Incorrect Gear Ratio

I really hope that the entire transmission does not need to be replaced. Hopefully it is a computer issue or something.

Any advise you can give me is greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Tom

well I'll start off by saying your symptoms sound familiar.... ( I haven't reveiewed the codes...) there is a class action suit against honda right now for their 00 automatic trannies... they start to exhibit what you have and then they slowly go out, search the forum for "Tranny Suit" and you'll find a post all about it.... Hopefully I'm wrong but it sounds like you're about to be hosed....

yeah this sucks... I am over 100,000 miles... however the problem I am having is weird.... if I disconnect the battery for about 10 min, the car will be fine for about 40-50 miles which leads me to believe that this is a Computer problem.

I think that's from some stupid class action lawsuit in california. Probably doing the lawyers more good than anyone else.

from here

put your vin in and it will tell you settlement becomes final in december if everything goes according to plan (it should have no snags or this site would not be there)

Call HOA and tell them about your problem and that you understand that there is a proposed settlement in this case that extends the warranty to 7 years and 9 months or 109K whichever comes first.

I believe Transmission class action suit has been approved. Can someone confirm that? So i just bring my accord to the dealer to get the transmissoin fixed for free if it fits the requirements.

click on the above link for VIN validation and that will tell you If it's covered, or just call the local dealer and tell them what you have going on.... it looks like the case settled on Dec 28 of 06
