I've been interested in purchasing the new 2008 Accord coupe.  But, it seems like most dealers only have one or two coupes on their lot and they are holding them like gold.

They say Honda can't keep up with supply.  I'm saying it's BS,  they are just doing that so they can keep a premium on the sticker price.

What do you guys think?  It's cheaper and easier to negotiate for a sedan than a coupe.

I think the coupes sell VERY quickly.  Our's sat on the lot for exactly 1 day before we bought it.  There are very few coupes at the dealer's lots here.  LOTS of four doors, but few coupes.

I think that if you see one and it's the right color that you'd better just snap it up

don't you think they'll eventually have more stock and prices will be more negotiable?

i remember reading in an article in USA Today not too long ago they quoted Honda North America as saying the production of the coupe is pegged at about 50k units annually right now for North America... not alot when you consider that, i believe, Honda sells about 400k Accords in NA in a typical year

the dealer i bought mine at had 7 coupes at the time, and 100+ sedans

In my opinion, the new '08 coupes look like Mercedes Benz. They are really a work of art and Honda did alot of things to improve on such an iconic vehicle. So my thoughts are why not buy a car that looks like a Benz, when you pay half the price. Just something to think about.

so this is where i'm at.
should i get an 08 Accord Sedan EX or 08 Accord Coupe LXS

Basically I can get both of these at the same price (23k OTD). And i'm currently on the fence not knowing which one to get.  I like both of them, but i do know that the coupe is way prettier.

Which one would you get?

if you dont need the added room of the sedan, i'd go for the coupe...  even though it's the LX-S, you get the slightly larger 4cyl (190bhp, 162lb-ft) that comes in the EX sedan (LX/LX-P sedan has 177bhp, 161lb-ft)...  not a huge difference but every little bit counts...  obviously by going with the LX-S you forgoe some of the creature comforts like the improved stereo, sunroof, power seats, etc...  but you get a nicer looking car too, in my opinion.  dont know if you'd want a stick but if you can source it, i'd get the 5spd MT.  a 4cyl LX 5spd MT has got to be the hardest model coupe to find, but if thats what you're in the market for, i'd get that.  either way, i dont think you'll be disappointed...  the rear seats in the coupe fold down as well to give you more room, but even without that, im able to fit 2 golf bags in the trunk with some space left over for bags and what not.

WTF do you need 20 bowling balls for? Smag we miss your bowling and teabags, come back... please?

I would get the coupe EX 5spd if I were you. Can't the dealer "trade" with another dealer or however they do it? My moms MDX was originally at an Acura dealer in Chicago because it was the only one close with Navi and DVD in Starlight Silver. Maybe agree on an OTD price with the dealer and have them order one or something, just be patient.

yup, i'm being patient.  Everyone is telling me not to rush it.  i like both the coupe and sedan. I'm not married or have any kids, but at the same time i do like the extra room.  My last car was the G35 coupe.

Anyone have any issues with the accord coupe?

Hey own a new 2008 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L with the V6 3.5 liter motor, 6 Speed Manual. Its worth the wait to get the one you want but you definatly need to get a coupe. It is such a nice car! Plenty of power and room. Dealers dont have very many and when they do usually they are automatic 4 cylinders. Any questions about it let me know. Its a great car.
