Boy I need some help here badly, I have worked on cars all my life but this problem has me stumped. Hopefully somebody knows how to fix it. My 1988 Accord (carbureted, with auto trans, 216,xxx miles 60K on rebuilt motor) will not idle, but runs great at driving speeds. Below is a list of everything that has been done as of today. Primary slow mixture cut-off solenoid valve - replaced new PCV valve replaced new Rebuilt the carburetor Oxygen sensor replaced new carb base gaskets - new checked & traced down all vacuum lines cleaned the egr valve and replaced gaskets replaced the vacuum advance on the distributor replaced dist-cap, rotor, wires and plugs all new replaced fuel filter I''m stumped, Please help if you can it seems to be a common problem with the older accords but their is no info on how to fix the issue. Thanks in advance for your help

chk to make sure that the slow-mixture solenoid is working properly, turn the key on and off and listen if solenoid clicks .or remove solenoid and see if the little plunger retracts with key on,, get a can of carb cleaner and spray around the intake manifold ,,for a possible int manifold gasket leak . you are positive that the is no vacc hose leaking??? there are a crap load of vacc hoses ,,get a needle nose plier and pinch vacc hoses 1 by 1 see if idle smooths up .. when you say will not idle do you mean idles rough or dies at idle ???
