I have a 2003 Accord EX-L with the stock rims.  I have spent a lot of time cleaning my car since I got it, but I am stuck with this nasty, black, gunk (brake dust, road grime, etc.) that has collected on the inside of the wheel.  I'm assuming that the best way to clean this is to take off each wheel, but what products should I be using?  Note, I have never removed the wheel for cleaning prior, so I might be spending a long time cleaning.

Thanks for the help.

I fully clean my alloy rims everytime I rotate tires.  I use 2 sponges, 1 for the outer rim and the other for the inner rim that collects most of the brake dust.  I use nothing but a hose and the sponge, and they look nice, clean and shiny, especially the fronts that collect the most brake dust.

Here is a good tip for you about that Brake Dust...the next time you put on new brakes, opt for the Ceramic Brakes, they are virtually dust free and quiet also...

Try Meguiars wheel cleaner and a wheel brush.  Really made a difference on my wheels.

I was kinda worried about trying Meguiars Chrome Wheel Cleaner on my wheels and to much my surprise they came out really nice.  That stuff works so good I bought a whole box of it from Autozone.  I got the regular cleaner for the wife's 325i and it works awesome on that too, I didn't even need a brush, the brake dust just dripped right off!  I keep on telling all my buddies about this product because it works so good.

Thanks, I was looking at a few of Meguiar's wheel products.  I guess the biggest thing for me is that the backside of the wheels have not been cleaned from new (other than what I can get from the frontside).  Starting with the next wash I will be pulling the wheels and scrubing them well.  I need to get a good brush to help the cause.

I tried several different wheel cleaner brands with so-so results (even with brushing) and the first time I tried Meguiars it was a huge difference; old black stains in the hard to reach areas that I put up with for years came right off.
