Which one of these (CAI) or (SRI) gives you better acceleration and which one gives you more speed?

There really is no noticeable difference.  Either one will MAYBE give you 1-3 hp.

sri is sucking in hot air and cai is cold air. sri gives better throtle response i think but cai has more hp gains

Sorry if i was mean in my post but people ask this question every day there has to be like 50 threads on it lol. But IMO short ram has a better throttle response so if I was into autocross I think it would be better for that and a cold air is better for higher rpm power top speed wise because of the colder air. I have no experience with a CAI but that''s what i read everyday.

what viper said is true but i also think that if your already running, i mean the vehicle is already moving, then your SRI would basically be also like the CAI cuz cooler air is already coming to your engine bay..i guess it wouldnt be as cold as CAI but you got the best of both world IMO...throttle response + colder air when moving..

doesnt that defeat the purpose of CAI?? i think u mean SRI...SRI u wrap  it with heat shield and its gonna bring more cooler air...

no, get a cold air intake and wrap the whole pipe. it will keep the engine from heating up the pipe, which heats the air. try it, it works

Actually, I''ve seen actual test results that showed that the wrap actually increases intake temperature by providing thermal mass to a thin metal pipe that wouldn''t have the thermal mass otherwise.  The air moves quick enough and enough volume to overcome the majority of the heat gain that could be apparent in traveling through the CAI pipe.

If you really want to play with physics, get a ScanGauge II so that you can see the IAT and instantaneous MPG.

i asked my machanic, and he says that since under the hood is so hot, it quickly heats up the pipe, which warms the air.  if u wrap it, he says the cold air will stay cold.

Next time you go for a long drive and stop for gas, pop your hood and see if the intake pipe feels hot or the same as ambient temp.
