Front License Bracket - 3/2/2005 12:28:54 PM

I just bought a 2000 Accord Coupe that doesn't have a front license bracket on the bumper. I am moving to California, where it is required to have a front license.

Is there a good solution to adding a front bracket for the license WITHOUT DRILLING into the bumper? Does Honda even have a OEM (no drill) bracket? And if I have to drill into the bumper, do I have to worry about hitting any sensors in the bumper, i.e. airbag sensors, etc?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

MLaccord

I've never seen a license plate mount that didn't have pre-tapped holes and use bolts or screws. I think that I would ask a dealer about this one!

Does your car have body colored plastic bumper covers? If so, perhaps there are tapped holes behind it that were not extended through the plastic bumper cover?!

Why would it really matter anyway? From what I have seen, California has a ton of b.s. laws over there.

Yeah and the big dealers don't even seel cars with them especially the ones not made for one. I haev noticed some don't have any place for them. SO if the dealers don't care you shouldn't haev to either.

when i bought my first new car, i luckily caught them about to drill the holes for the front plate bracket...i didnt live in a front plate state, so i wanted no parts of it...luckily, i have since moved to another no-front plate state...

That would have annoyed me, highly. They could have at least asked you.

I have a front plate on my civic and have thought about removing it but not until I get something to cover the holes. The dealership lil liscence cover actually looks pretty nice.

i'm only in ca. for a short while - moving to az. i'll probably display on dash if at all. i could wire tag to front of car's dense meshlike aftermarket grille insert.
