Was just wondering if anyone have a full size for their current model year Accord sedan. If so then what size wheel and tire will fit in the spare wheel well? I go on long trips and the bogus temp spare won't get me home if I'm more than 50 miles away.

That is my question, will a full size or a larger more permanent size tire fit in the well the temp spare is sitting in? If you look in at the spare you'll see that there is some space around the spare and the sides of the wheel well indicating a larger tire may fit in there.

measure your tires, and then your wheel well... that should solve your problems : )

Do you think it is really necessary to have a full size spare tire??? Since a spare tire is mainly for you to put it on temporary. The thing about a full size spare tire it that it will take up some trunk space and weigh down your car which might slightly change your mpg.

My friend at school who drives his dads accord put like 250 miles on the spare so you don't have a lot to worry about.

Peace of mind is exactly what I mean... I'm not too concerned about style because I'm prepared to use a regular steel wheel. I drive up to Canada from NJ quite often and that is a 500 mile trip each way so peace of mind is key.

I understand. Out here as long as you have a spare that can go 10 miles you can make it to a tire shop. Hell even our costco's have tire shop and they are extremely nice. While I was getting gas one was smoking a ciggarrette (sp?) and he saw my tire looked a lil low so told e me to pull it around. Turns out I had a nail in it but it was repairable and he repaired it on the spot. Best part was, it was free. My dad was with me because I was still learning stick. It was the coolest thing ever. He may have lost some money there but he gained a customer from my dad.

yeah but when you're on I-90 (NY State Thruway) for about 120+ miles in the middle of nowhere and you don't know any of the towns you pass through (which are far and few between), it is extremely difficult to find a tire shop let alone one that is open and has the correct size tire. I know I'll probably never be in that situation (knock on wood) but I guess I have the boyscout mentality of always being prepared.

Also if you plan on getting a full size spare tire it should be able to fit because my 92 Camry trunk is smaller and it can still fit a full size spare tire in the well. Even my civic can too.
