build it... VTEC IS A NA application if u want a turbo get a non vtech u will be alot happyer... start with the bottom end... rings pistons crank get them all forged and ready to go... next top end... Skunk2 stage 2 racing cams will give u a desent lope and still be just barely streetable... headers... u can get the ones for any accord 03+ sedan or coupe doesent matter... intake... CAI whatever u want i recomend keeping the stock intake all the way up to the air box then going from there with either a custom or whatever pipe theres alot of sensors on our intake so its not cheap to make... if ur gunna be building a beast... stroke it pull it up to a 11:1 ratio (shaved heads shaved block dished out heads and pistons always remember to do that cuz when vtec hits in our cars it wouldent be pretty if the valve slamed into the piston... no no no) u can run a 100 shot of n2o easy enough and definately wouldent have a hard time with anything but cash... o yeh lighten everything flywheel pullys get a better altenator and run a underdrive pully... sooo much stuff u can do o yeh port and polish everything and maby even look into a skunk2 multi staged air intake and a cat back exaust... if u have to smog run a high flow cat if not run a EBAY high flow :)

also a A2 head off a TRX or a JDM k20A3 head off a integra R might work well :)

more low end power vtec is for gas economy if you want power you can only get so much out of a vtec cam, and dynos show that changing it to a non vtec cam increases low end hp and torque

I thought the low cam was for lower rpms that would normally used during cruise speed. And the high cam is for higher rpms, to make good power.

vtec is all about changing ur cams... these arent racing engines (yet) vtec engine is a very weak truely powerless engine untill it hits vtec (or in the case of Ivtec when u mash it) they push maby 100 hp and 100ish foot pounds, what vtec does it totaly recams the engine... the timing advances the valves open more more air more fuel more powerfull spark bigger explosion. thats why our cars dont feel very ballsy driving around but if u stand on it u get pushed back into ur seat... :)... the variable cams is why that its not a good turbo application... Vtec runs the engine way way way weird and when it kicks in specialy I Vtec anyway it just doesent apply well to turbos and they get a little screwy and dont boost right... truely if we want power... non Tec turbo or Non turbo tec will push the most power barnone...

Big race cams dont give good power at low rpm either, and the fuel efficiency would be gone too. And VTEC works very good with turbos. Why wouldn't it? Turboes tend to like higher rpms, just when the high cam kicks in.

but the point that is always made on the turbo is turbo lag, by it being non vtec the turbo lag is reduced, and why the low end sucks on racing cams is cause obviously you arent going to be driving 20 miles an hour through housing in a car made for a drag strip. And the other reason is cause an agressive cam has such long durations and high lobes you arent getting enough air in at low rpms so its kinda useless but with any turbo setup idea turbo starting point for general racing is maybe 250rpm above warmup start idle..... give or take anyways..... but if a turbo kicks in at 1500 rpm youre going to be faster then the guy with the vtec engine whos turbo is kicking in at 3700rpm.
Or be evil and keep the vtec cam and make a make alterations to your turbo that blasts air into the exhaust side of the turbo when you want it to....... so it spools up when your vtec lobe hasnt engaged yet ^_-

The main problem i've heard with vtec and turbos (besides the added turbo lag) is that when the aggresive cam profile is active, there is a lot of boost just blowing in the through the intake valve and right back out the exhaust valve due to the valve overlap.

you have to think of it this way though, that boost that leaks through is also aiding you in maintaining the turbo boost, but yeah, behold that downside of a sohc where you cant retard the exhaust and advance the intake lol

Thanks for the response guys.

http://www.turbo-kits.com/element_turbo_kits.html

Since the Element and Accord share the same engine (K24a), would this is feasible?
