ok im new to this board and got one main question..i looked around and notice similar threads but didnt get a clear answer.

ok so i got a 2008 Honda accord sedan LX. stock everything..it just has the hubcaps..so i gotta get rims on it.

im trying to put 20's on it but there are so many different ones im not sure what fits. some people have told me that they are fine and will have no prob (Rent a Tire) and others have said that they will rub and others have told me they are fine as long as they are 20x8 and nothing bigger (Discount Tire).  so whats the biggest i can put on there without having to modify anything? someone please help. i want to get them soon but dont wanna make a stupid choice. (although many say i am by choosing 20's). i want it for luxury more than performance so i understand i gotta give up some comfort.

20inch rims are not luxury and it is a real stupid choice because you will have more rotating mass which will eat your brakes up faster your speed will be off alot more than it is from the factory and it would just look ugly

17" is most common, 18" are the largest. You should be able to wrap rubber on 18s with the same rolling diameter as the stock tires to keep the speedo in check. Bigger wheels will provide neither luxury nor performance. You sacrifice a lot of ride comfort the bigger you go, most people will say no bigger than 18 to not look like an idiot. I say 17 to keep a classy look without everyone in town knowing they are aftermarket rims from a distance. Also, 8" is the stock wheel width, so don't go bigger or you will have to deal with rubbing and uber-expensive tires. So, 17x8 or 18x8 with whatever offset. Should be around +45mm, but check.

19's cause 18's wont fill in the fenderwells enough. After the wheels, lower it 1-1.5 inches and itll be slick

I am sure there are some 20's that look nice.

Most people grab a few of the tires they like best, post em in their topic and usually members will either like or dislike the wheel.

I agree with j_man, get 19's it will fill the fenderwell much better than 18's. I remember reading somewhere that 08's come with 18's stock, but dont quote me on that.
Here's a pic of someone's with 19's. Just needs to be lowered and it'll look good http://www.v6performance.net/forums/showthread.php?t=92848

ok so at one point i was thinking chrome rims but after reading a lot of posts on here it seems almost everyone agrees that chrome is not for hondas. so i changed my mind..my accord is black with the chrome trim around it. i was thinking these rims right here. what do yall think?

I say black with a chrome lip or a nice silver racing style wheel

On Tirerack.com you can "see" the rims you pick on your car in your color.

It gives a pretty of idea of what you'll get and what looks good to you.
