Is anyone running higher wattage bulbs in there cars?

I want to put higher wattage bulbs in the high beams, but I'm concerned with wire size and the heat on the case/housing.

8000k are not higher wattage...8000k means that the filament temperature of 8000 degrees kelvin. it has nothing to do with wattage...however, an 8000k bulb is generally brighter than, say, a 4000k bulb..if you go to a true higher wattage bulb, going to high will draw too much power current flow through the wires,a nd melt them, and can often cause fire.

i wanted blinding foglights, so i adapted my foglight holders to allow me to put a low beam bulb in my foglights... it does get a big warm in there..but i have taken them apart, and inspected them, as well as drilled tiny holes along the top back to vent heat.

by the way..the black coupe looks Great!

why do you want higher watts?? for more brightness?? if you dont have xenons, then get those, they are must brighter then reagual halogen bulbs. make sure when u insall them you dont touch the bulb with ur hands, oil will make the bulb blow.

Yes, I'm looking for more light output, mainly on the high beams. I have 100 watt high beams in my miata (along with dedicated wiring/relays) and I miss the additional light output when I'm in the honda. I was just a little concerned about how well the housing would handle the additional heat.

I tend to lean towards halogen and "yellowstar"/all weather type bulbs that are more yellow in colour. For some reason, I have a harder time seeing with the Xenon bulbs that tend to be a little more blue. My eyes don't seem to process the bluer light colors very well at night.

I say go with Sylvania or leave it alone, high wattages just suck up power. My blinkers turned into hyper blinkers when I put in Nokya, I re-installed Silverstars and whatta u know, it blinked normally again, plus the car stopped dying, from leaving the lights on for more than a min or two.
