ORIGINAL: hyrumbradshaw 1998 accord v6 auto, wont start, clicking noise. I had it jumped and it started. alternator replaced recently and battery has been tested. cleaned terminals and still wont start. the guy at auto zone said its probably a starter selenoid. do I have to replace both the starter and selenoid? does anyone have instructions or pics that would help me replace starter? to replace the starter, first off make sure you got the code for the radio ( anti-theft) , disconnect the neg battery cable, remove the nut ( 12 mm ) for the starter cable goint from battery into the starter , disconnect the wire going to solenoid.. ( black/white wire ) ,, there might be the clamp for the AT cooler hose in the way , remove it,, remove the 2 14mm bolts that hold the starter on, remove the starter,,,,,,,,, Reinstall in reverse order,,,,,,As alway make sure all bolts and nuts are tight and wires properly clamped on .........
