There are two hydraulic cylinders for the clutch. The master cylinder is on the firewall, and the slave cylinder is near the front of the car, on the tranny, near the radiator. Are you losing any fluid?

If the reservoir was empty, its not enough just to fill it. You have to bleed the clutch.

Thats strange. Still, you may have air in the system & need to bleed it.

You probably have an air pocket in your master cylinder or something. You should just flush your clutch fluid.

Clutch bleeding tricks... If you have a pressure bleeder, bleed it backwards. Suck out the reservoir fluid, then push fluid IN thru the bleed screw at the slave cylinder. That way you push the bubbles UPHILL, the way they naturally want to go. Old-fashioned bleeding? Tie a string around the clutch pedal. After you let the pressure out, the pedal wont spring back up - you have to pull it. Control it with foot, dont let it SNAP back up.
