have you checked the battery? if you have, then check the spark plugs, wires. does it turn over?

You need to determine if the problem is lack of spark or fuel.  Does the check engine light stay on, and have you checked for any codes?

You should hear the fuel pump turn on while the check engine light is on (~ two seconds) when you turn the key to the II position.  It is a faint whirling/buzzing sound that comes from the back seat/trunk area.

Pull out a spark plug and tape it to the engine for a solid ground.  Have someone crank the car to see the spark strength ...... best done at dusk.

Follow the instructions in this link to get the error codes: http://www.dhost.info/accordinfo/howto/cel.html

Use a thin paperclip to jump that service connector.  Post the code on here.

Pull that spark plug right after trying to start it.  Then you can check for fuel in the cylinder.  Having pressure in the fuel rail doesnt prove the injectors are firing.

i just tried the engine code thing, and it only had one of those blue plugs. i used a small paper clip, and it gave me the code "22" through the red SRS light.

on the link you gave me it said   "Note* It has come to my attention that some 96 Accords have a service connector behind the ashtray"  i have a 96 accord and i remover the ashtray and found a connector. it has many holes, and i dont know which ones to use.

thank you so much

That SRS code is for the passenger air bag and it is either (2-2, or 1-1) and will not cause your car not to start.

That 16-pin connector behind the ash tray will hook up to any OBD code reader to pull off more detailed codes (P#### is how they are reported).  Since your car isn''t running, you can''t drive it to autozone to get the codes read for free.  It isn''t worth buying one, since a paperclip will also get the code for you.

As long as you shorted the blue two-pin connector and NOT the one with three wires, then you found the right connector.

If the check engine light didn''t flash any codes, then there are likely no codes stored on the ECU.  I can''t remember what the check engine light does if no code is stored (either remains on, shuts off).

If the CEL did not blink any codes when you had the connector shorted, then there are likely no codes stored on the ECU.  I was hoping that something obvious would come up.

Have you pulled a sparkplug and tested for adequate spark.  Without this info, its hard to give you more detailed instructions.
