Why is it that i hear or see 4 cylinder hondas/acura's making so much power i'm talking about strating from 200 hp to 500 hp and why is so hard to see or hear a v6 accord make that kind of hp

I heard a v6 is harder to modify bc there are not as much aftermarket parts or something for it vs a 4 cyl where it's easier to modify.
So if you plan on using turbo and s/c's ur gonna need all ur bolt on's i think. u can modify v6's. But I think people choose to boost 4cyl bc they r cheaper i guess.

V6's have lots of potential but again the aftermarket parts are harder to find. Plus for most people the V6's has plenty of power to suit them for their style of driving. Plenty of power unlike our heavy a** little 4 bangers. God my Accord is so heavy. What is the weight of 6th gen coupes? I know the sedans are like 3900lbs. or something like that...

well after owning my 95 Accord LX V6, I truly never bought any after market parts for it because 1:Headers I would have to pay double for 2: i could never find any decent parts to even fit - let alone be useful if i found any at all......Its really hard to mod a friggin forgien v6 :P

no way a 6th gen sedan is 3900 pounds. that's heavier than the 7th gens. I think people also mod 4 bangers bc they r lighter.

Where did those numbers come from?  I know MSN is not always right, but for the 2000 Accord, it says:
4cyl LX Auto Sedan = 3075  Coupe = 3014
4cyl LX Manual Sedan = 3020 Coupe = 2948
4cyl EX Auto Sedan = 3120 Coupe = 3048
4cyl EX Manual Sedan = 3064 Coupe = 2981
It only makes sense to me that the coupe weighs less than the sedan.

I think the real reason is because until the 7th generation, the V6 didn't have amanual option.  The auto sucks and dies with the power it has ...... I think the J30 can take 600 HP no problem if built right.

S2000 is lighter.... that's all i say... the importance is the power:weight ratio...

S2k is lighter, rear wheel drive and revs a lot higher.  Also, it's weight is positioned to give it an aggresive stance which leads to handling performance ........ also, the S2k is Honda's sports car and the Accord is not.

Yeh weight is 75% of a race.... It dont matter if youve got 500hp and your opponent has 250hp... If he weighs 1,000 lbs. lighter than you he'll probably win.... (A crude example of course)

Rear seats, passenger seat(if none ever rides with ya), speaker boxes(if you got em), spare tire/wheel(thats almost 40lbs.), etc.... You can also get CF hood and trunk, that would knock off 50-60lbs

comparing a 240hp s2000 to a 240hp accord lol.  one of the things that wasnt mentioned yet was gear ratio

the s2000 tranny is built to go fast, the accord tranny is built to get grocieries.

4cyl accord FTW.  easier to do a h22 swap lol.

fiberglass,  your hood would only weigh 30 pounds  not as cheap as a cf hood though ^_^

v6 6mt accord would win against si. The v6 6mt is faster by a second but I guess it rly depends on the driver
