So I decided to give google a shot at finding some 7th gen turbos...as you might know I've been looking into turboing my 03. And guess what....the top 5 hits made me smile.
http://www.streetlevelperformance.com/Honda_TSI%20Extreme%20Turbo%20Kit.aspx * TSI Extreme Turbo Kit (T28 Ball Bearing Turbo) is around 3.5k....priced competively for a turbo kit.
http://www.statracing.com/apps/honda-turbo-specialties-turbo-kits.asp * ENGINE MODEL K24 T25BB TURBO (T24 Ball Bearing Turbo) is a little cheaper...around 2.8k.
7th gen brothers, we have hope to unleashing our K series! 8th gen kids, I think you can tag along since the kit is built for a k series block, might have to do some custom fitting tho since the series is Z instead of A ;)

LOL, you know how small those turbo's are?

Yeah, T3, T3/T4, T4 or bigger. There's a great turbo build thread over at 6thgenaccord.com for a K-swap. I'm sure a little custom tailoring to a 7th gen would work for you.

Where on 6GA is there a turbo K build?

Let me see if I can track it down again...

I can't seem to find it on 6GA or V6P or K20a or Google. WTF. I remember it being about 7 - 10 pages long. The guy buys the K motors from the junkyard and builds them for people. What I remember was that it was a K longblock out of an Element matched to some other K head ( I think the A2, not sure)... damn. It was such a good, detailed read too, I just didn't store in the long term memory because it didn't apply to me.

Mmmmm, damit so it remains a custom build for turboing a 7th gen.
Or could you just buy the kit for 3k and just get a Garrett T3/T4 for $500-600?
EDIT - but the bigger the turbo, more turbo lag...
T28/25 vs. T3/4 how much (percent wise) bigger?

Well unless you buy a kit, just about every turbo build is custom. I don't want to sound like an a*s, but if you don't want to do the homework and spend the cash, you might as well spray and play.

not bad. i have an 03 accord and on 9psi i hit 291whp/272wtq. mind you this was on a small turbo. im going with a new setup and was hoping to get to around those numbers. RAA rods look very weak so ive been kinda weary of going that high.
also, you might make more power by ditching the RBC manifold. a stock k24a4 dosent rev high enough to make use of it. someone already tried it and actually lost power up untill 6k on a k24a4. id try the RBB (TSX) manifold instead
Check out k20a.org, K-series forum with more info on your engine than we can provide here.

There's another thread on there with a BONE STOCK K24A2 pushing 500HP @ 21PSI at the crank with a GT30R turbo...

sctuned.com has a ton of cheap turbo parts.

A t3/t4 turbo has little, if no lag at all.

Agree, mine has virtually no lag...

well are turbos nessarsarily shortens the engines life? or is it not true.
KevinAccord
6/2/2008 10:08:13 AM
turbo's don't shorten the life of your engine... the piece that goes behind the wheel is what damages the engine!LOL! J/K
well, it you run too much boost on your stock internals / the mix is not right / or just not correctly tuned, the car is not gonna last as long as you may want.

so ur saying that i will need to have the right parts like pully system and stuff like that to make sure that the turbo can run well
KevinAccord
6/3/2008 6:28:48 AM
pulley system is not essential... but you should replace the timing belt.

Hey Kevin, how much psi you pushing?
ziwang55
6/4/2008 8:12:05 AM
are there other things other than the timing belt that are essential to gettin a turbo?
KevinAccord
6/4/2008 10:58:47 AM
yeah... bigger injectors....
sleeper: 7psi (getting $ to do internals and push 12psi)

12 psi with an A/T....there is a god! :D
ziwang55
6/4/2008 7:08:13 PM
what does the psi mean
psi means pounds per square inch(i think.) basically if your talking bout the turbo psi..then the more the psi on your turbo is pushing then the more air it forces in your engine and thus more air and right fuel mixture equals higher horsepower...(correct me if im wrong guys)...

Ford is correct. Also, some boost gauges (like the one i first had) read in bar.
Here''s the conversion:
1 psi = 0.0689475729 bar
So we can say Im currently running 7psi or .48 bar.
And sleeper... Im going a MT Swap before that (sorry i didn''t mention it before, need to raise like 3k @ least so it''s gonna take like 1 yr or a little more)... though i may use the AT first to see how long it can last. That should be fun!
yeah that would be fun to play around with..LOL..AT + Turbo..hmm...
