Hey everyone. hope you guys are having a fantastic friday! I have a question, I have a 2001 Honda Accord, EX 4 cyl model. I just recently surpassed the 90K mile marker. Is there a 90K mile tune up I need to take it in for? Thanks

IF you haven't done the timing belt yet I would get that done along with the seals, tensioners and water pump. Tranny drain/re-fill, inspect the belts and check for leaks, air filter (if it's due), fuel filter... but the biggest thing is the timing belt

I bought the car in June of 05' with 73K miles on it. I'm not sure if the timing belt has ever been replaced. I'm new to learning about cars: what is the seals, tensioners, & water pump. I had the tranny drained & refilled during an oil change in Dec, air filter was also replaced at that time. How much does all that cost?

The water pump requires the removal of timing belt etc. so it's best/easiest to replace that when doing the job.... Here's some great photos of a 94 (it's similar) so you can see what each part is.... I believe that if you had a mechanic do all the work you're looking at anywhere from $400-$600 for all the parts/labor

Hi Member CarDummie..welcome to the forums..
Here is a great rule to follow all of your life...If and when you purchase a new USED car...treat it as if nothing has been done to it at all and then do most everything..this is the only true way you will know if something has been done..eNuff Said

Thanks WheelBrokerAng. I wish I could do something about it, but at this point I dont really have $400 or so laying around to get that checked out. I would def do that if i could but I'm a student in college...trying to survive. I'm concerned the timing belt might go out soon, but praying for the best.
