Do I need an install kit to replace my stock radio on my 92 Accord LX?
I already removed everything, and will buy the radio later today, but need to know if I need the kit to make it fit and avoid empty space on the dashboard.

It all depends on what you have in there.... I believe the 92 was a single DIN deck size so you shouldn't need an install kit or anything.  I would however, suggest getting a wiring harness to make installation a little bit easier but the new deck should have what you need to install it

Hey man do u think u could get me started on what to take off to get the old stereo out. Do i have to take out the whole dash part that surrounds the guages, ac control, and all that or does the old deck just slide right out

I would recommend Scosches wiring kits at Wal-Mart for $10 compared to other places $20 for the same thing.  However do not waste your money on Scoches install kits...absolutely awful.  I used one, returned it.  Then on my sisters car, I bought an install kit that the place uses (they do custom installs and such) and it was a pile of junk too.  I would ONLY recommends Best Buys install kits.  They are the best kits ive seen and used.  The only reason I had to get a different kit for my sisters car was b/c it was after Christmas and everyone was out.  Good luck.

I just replaced my 2001 Accord stereo. I did not need an install kit, but certainly recommend the wire harness. I posted the details of the install with pictures in this forum at http://www.hondaaccordforum.com/How_To_Replace_2001_Honda_Stereo/m_39167/tm.htm.

You can put in a radio without an installation kit but the radio will move in and out, and i won't stay in position, that where you need an instal kit
