I have a 2001 Accord LX 4-cyl and I would like to replace my AC Filter under the glove box myself but I am really worried that my SRS airbags might deploy.
Does taking off the glove box and replacing the AC behind it trigger my SRS airbags to deploy?

careful prying off the [plastic pieces,, and make sure you remove all the screws .. before prying things out ,, it is a simple job ..

alright so this is a new one to me.... I haven't had A/C in most of my vehicles so I wasn't even aware of an A/C filter being present, let alone needing replaced... any further info on this?

I've also never heard of an A/C filter, and i've learned a bit about A/C and i know how it works and what not. I've never heard about an A/C filter, unless of course its an HEPA filter or some other filter that filters the air before it is sent into the cabin. I don't think that there is filter that would filter the refrigerant b/c since its a completely closed system i wouldn't think there would be a need for a filter.
Edit: There is a cabin air filter it should be replaced every 30,000 miles or 2 years and its located behind the glove box.

i cannot recall for sure but starting in 98 or 99 Accord have an a/c filter ( cabin filter ) it is located between blower assembly and evaporator ..up tp 2002 i believe ,, you had to remove the glove box tp replace the filter, PITA.. starting with 03 they made it a lot simpler,
I advice to replace that filter at least once a year , they get pretty nasty ..

Just replaced my filters today for the first time. PITA yes, but not ridiculous. Mine were pretty dirty.
