can i pull my engine without have a hoist? Im very tight on money and cant rent/ buy one... also if i replace my pistons, rings, oil pump, water pump, cam, cam gear, main rod bearing, timing belt, and all gaskets, and clean out the intake manifold, ruel rail, injectors, spark plugs and wires, clean the head out.... should it run ebtter?

That's a helluva lotta work just to get your car to "run better" . You could drop it out the bottom, but you still need a hoist to raise the car.
For what you're spending to completely rebuild a motor that probably doesnt need rebuilt, you could've just bought a new(er) one.

its a 1990.. and it just needs work from the start... its my perfect all motor project... its a 2.2 sohc... which im going to end up building up and possible turbo soon. idk yet.

yea well pretty much if i buy a swap there could be something wrong already i would rather know i rebuilt it myself

I believe that with the 1990's you can jack up the front of the car and remove the engine bracing and lower the engine out the bottom with just a floor jack, my friend did it to his 89 prelude which is a very similar engine/setup...
