I have pretty much been accepted into the Xplicit Impressions car club
www.xicc.net around my area, which also has chapters in Washington and Cali. But...i'm having second thoughts. I met the leader and he has quite a few requirements:
-Attend two big shows, such as NOPI or HIN in St. Louis
-Must have 3 BIG modifications to the car, wheels being one of the 3 unless your oem ones are in perfect shape. But he only counts I/H/E as 1.5 of those things!
-Your car has to be in show ready shape all the time, b/c of the club decal i'll soon be sporting.
Basically I got in b/c I have plans of wheels, CF hood, and projectors. But.....I still am in HS, and I am looking for another job, and I dont think, well I know my parents wouldnt let me go to HIN or NOPI. So yeah, idk what I am gonna do.
Anyways, the guy has a REALLY nice Eclipse (not the ricey kind), with a nice turbo and hood, then he has a civic thats modified, and Yamaha road bike and a Eagle Talon that was on jacks in pretty crumby shape. But I could tell he spends all his money on his cars....
I guess i'll probably "offically" join when I have my mods and am in college

Okay I'm going to play devils advocate here but what do you gain from joining? Why would you want to maintain your car in a very specific manner and wash/clean it all the time for a sticker on your car? I'm not saying don't do it I'm just playing devils advocate and asking why you would do it...

I agree wit Sir Nasty on this, I belong to a premire car club myself and I dont ever have to even care what my car looks like..and I have a really sweet sticker from the club...

Deleted as posted in wrong section
However I used to belong to the FOC - UK, they did not expect anything of the sort. Just a £75/annum fee

I dont know. I really want to share my enthusiasm with other people about cars. No one around my school really understands the car world, so being with dudes + dudettes that do seems cool to me.

Plus if we were to cruise around, that seems really fun to me. And there arent any annual dues or anything.

Dang, so many rules! I didn't realize how many there were to join a car club. Hope it's worth it.

Yeah! I was surprised to find out there were that many rules as well. Oh well.

So does being in "show ready shape" mean your car always has to be washed and detailed? Because thats a lot of washing during the rainy season, when you car gets dirty every time you drive it lol.

haha I am not to sure! Oh well, even if its not, the worst is that I would get kicked out which is highly unlikely. Besides, I already have the decals on and my car is a muddy mess! hehe Plus his modified Civic was clean on the outside, but the inside was...not so much. But his Eclipse was def. show ready!
Want to know the funny thing?! I saw the guy for the second time last night......getting pulled over in his Civic! I was like, hey I know him! And he was about 8 blocks from his house.

LoL, that is pretty funny. You should ask if he is going to kick himself out for bringing negative publicity to the club by getting pulled over.

LMAO I should! I have anxiously been checking the club site to see if he has posted anything, but he hasnt since the 18th. Seems a little more than a coincidence!

Is there anything on the site that tells all the rules and regulations? I looked around, but didnt see anything.

Not that I can find. I had no idea, until I actually met the guy which was disappointing after he told me. They should have them posted on there. Basically the car just has to be clean, and have three BIG modifications to it. He actually got sponsored after going to HIN a few times. HIN knows IE pretty well according to him and if I went it would only be $55 for me, the car + a friend which seems like a really good deal! To bad I couldn't.

So since you have the decals on your car, does that mean you are in the club? It WOULD be pretty sweet to get sponsored though. If my car had more mods than it does, I would consider joining a car club. Actually I have thought about starting an Accord club out here, I have seen quite a few in my area that are modified, but I havent really talked to anyone about it yet to gauge the interest.

I am not to sure! I am assuming so, but i'll have to talk to him more. I think he is letting me because I have plans of upgrading the Accord even more to meet the requirements. That would be cool to have your own Accord club! I have seen a couple that have been lightly modified w/ the clear corners and signals. I freaking want projectors, CF hood, rims, and racing seats soooooo badly! And a new exhaust. I wish I could find an axleback muffler that bolts right up to my current Apexi.
poser_pilot6
1/21/2007 2:26:21 AM
Well I wish I had the money to buy your WSII off you! Thats the exhaust I want, although lately I have been thinking about getting a Tsudo Evo II off of eBay, since I can get it for less than $250, including shipping.
I have so many plans for my car... Its just that money and deployments are holding me back lol. But yeah, I want HID, CF hood and trunk lid, new seats, new stereo system, and a turbo in the long run. Oh yeah, and new rims (hopefully when I get my taxes back, WBA is going to hook me up with some nice ones), and lowering springs as well. Thats just the big stuff lol.

Well if you plan on going turbo, you'll probably need a bigger exhaust then the 2.25 Apexi. I would love to sell my exhaust, but dont really have the capability to remove the WS2 and then put the old one on and yeah! Maybe one of the cheap exhaust systems, like you were talking about would bolt up. I have been thinking of asking one of those sellers for pics of the flanges. Well good luck with all the upgrades! I know how the money is...every time you think you are done upgrading you find another must have and realize that you'll need a few paychecks for that! And let me know if you sell your rims for a fairly cheap price. I have been looking more into the black w/ a polished lip but I do like yours too. I thought your car was already lowered? As for seats do you mean stock?
poser_pilot6
1/21/2007 10:12:45 AM
I know I'll need a different exhaust for the turbo, and I also wont be able to use the OBX header Im gonna be getting, but the turbo is a ways down the road, and I want to have a little more power in the now lol.
My car is still stock height. I only want to lower it about 1.5 inches, nothing radical, just to make it look a little better and handle tighter. Seats, I dont really know. I'll go aftermarket, but I dont think I want to get too crazy with them. I havent really looked at whats out there in a while.
You dont want my wheels, man. They're pretty scratched up from the previous owner. Apparently he didnt know how to stay off the curb.
19Accord97
1/21/2007 10:44:47 AM
Well I def. understand the need for more power...now! After my headers and at back were put on, it was a nice gain!
I would like to lower mine to, but havent really looked into how much it would cost and whether or not I could do it myself. Plus our cars sit so low anyways, I wonder how much I would be scraping. I like the racing seats, but am not sure as to what you would need to make them work. I have seen a set of OBX sliders on eBay for them. I also have seen various price ranges. I would prolly ust go with APC's seats b/c they are cheaper and will have some quality.
That sucks about your wheel. They look pretty nice actually. Well if you want to give them away or what not, i'd take them! haha

1/21/2007 11:10:56 AM
Thats why I only want to do a 1.5 drop, any lower just makes it too big of a risk for scraping lol. And the roads around here kinda suck too. It shouldnt cost too much, its probably around $200 for a set of four springs, and with the little amount Im going to lower it, I can hold off on getting struts and a camber kit for a while. If I was going to drop it 3 inches, I would want to do it all at once.
Well when I get new rims, if you want the ones I have now, I'll give them to you. What part of Illinois are you in? Im in Northwest TN, about 50 miles NW of Nashville, and I dont think Illinois is all that far from TN.
19Accord97
1/21/2007 11:51:57 AM
Yeah. There are a few places with drives here that I already scrape. $200 isnt as bad as I thought, but how much would the struts and camber kit be? I dont really know much about the suspension!
Would you really?! Because that would be AWESOME! I live in central Illinois so I think we'd have to getthem shipped. If you left the tires on and what not I would give you some $$ too. Have any close ups of the rims? Sorry, that would just be amazing as I havent had any such fortune like this! And when are you planning on getting new rims? Are they about the same size as oem, or do you think I would have the get them alligned? Thanks man

Struts are the expensive part, Im not positive, but I think for the good KYB struts, you are probably looking at $400 for a set of four?
Im planning on keeping the tires I have, they are pretty much new, only like 2k miles on them. I will take some close ups when it stops raining (may be a couple days lol). If you want them, you pay for shipping and they are yours. They are 17s, I believe they are 7 inches wide. I dont think you would need to get an alignment, but you might.
I should be getting new rims before April. Just waiting for my wife to get her W2s from her job so we can go file taxes.

$400, ouch!
Thats fine, I'll check out the pics and have to see how much tires are n such! Thanks in advance for the pics, and the deal!
I have to change my oil, but ill be back on later....before the BEARS!
