Well a kid 3 houses down from me got his truck spray painted by someone. I dont hang out with his people so i'm hoping it wont happen to me (I park outside too) but since it is so close to me I was just wondering what to do if my car were to get spray painted. How long would I have to get it off? If it happened at night would it not stick as well, therefore giving me more time to get it off? What products would help?

I would make sure to have a nice coat of wax or other protectant on the finish. I figure if it can fight off the sun it should help in fighting off spray paint. As far as getting it off, rubbing compound might help and then there are the tar and bug removers for a little more aggressive touch. If the spray paint really adheres to your car's finish you might end up having a serious buff job preformed. I would of course try to remove the paint ASAP and at night the paint shouldn't really dry as fast as it would during the day, it kinda depends on your weather conditions too.

wax your car, that is the best thing you can do to protect your car. if someone spray paints it after you waxed it, then you can easily remove the paint with rubbing compound that is clear coat safe..

If you use Claybar correctly it should work as well.

SAND PAPER! some 40 grit or something would work great!!! ;-P

personaly i would go buy a cheap buffer and some buffing compound and be gentle with it (the buffer pad would probably be ruined)
