Have an 01 Honda Accord with 5 speed tansmission. Just had the timing belt and other maintenance done. The mechanic mentioned that there was a fluid leak from the hydraulic clutch. He said that this was a common problem with the Honda clutch. Also, the clutch pack would need to be changed along with various other parts. Is this common and has anyone else had this problem. If so, how much did it cost to repair.

Thanks

The hydraulic system of a Honda clutch is all outside. It can be fixed without removing the tranny, so that stuff about replacing the clutch must be for another problem unrelated to the leak.

Where is the leak located? Are there any other symptoms or what's not working properly??

The most common leaks are from the clutch master cylinder. Just look up under the dash at it, see if it's been dripping. And the clutch slave.

there are three parts that can leak. the clutch master cylinder, which is on the firewall. then there is the slave cylinder, which is mounted on the tranny. then there is a little piece of rubber hose that runs over the tranny that can leak. best advice....take it to a new shop cause a leak does not mean that your "clutch pack" needs to be replaced. what did that guy think.....that you have a motorcycle? seriously shady. let us know that name and location of that shop plz... thanks
