Ok so i put this in last spring and has ran fine where i live here in Ohio. The more and more i have been reading it seems like i might want to get a bypass valve just incase. Heres a picture of how it looks. Give me some input on what u think. Once again its ran fine all this time .. we seem to have pretty good drainage around here so maybe i dont need it.

The $50 investment can save your $2k + motor.

i agree. The bypass valve will protect you know matter what from even a full submerging of your intake filter. It is worth the small amount because it will save you money should your engine expirience hydrolock.

It takes quite a bit to hydrolock a motor, and chances are it may never happen to you... but if it does your motor is worthless, the bypass valve will simply replace that little coupler that's in your picture and is pretty cheap, I would defenitly buy one for safety sake

that's exactly what you need, I did a quick search on ebay and if you wanted you could probably get it a few bucks cheaper but not by much.... looks like a decent price and the right product....

Just make sure that your intake is 3" diameter piping if thats the bypass valve you buy.  Doesnt help you if its a 3" valve and your intake piping is 2.75" lol.
