I didn't think bypass would give that much trouble unless they are really really old...but I do see mine is getting kinda chipped off...mine's about 3 year old...

Here is a quote from my favorite magazine "Project Car Magazine" from one of the mechanics. "The previous owner locked up the motor by using another company's intake and sucking up a bunch of water -- hence the need for a rebuild. We're still not sure where he found a puddle of water that big in Southern California. Maybe he drove into a pool or something. Anyhow, we wanted to check out the new DRYFLOW filter from AEM that never needs oiling." If this help the decision process at all.
