so i just remembered that my brother had a 12" earthquake sub. i THINK it might be a magma sub. it has a separate plate that looks like the surface of the sub (my bro calls it a radiator i think its called a passive disc)
he said i can have it if i can use it so YAY free sub

has anybody heard of this sub? good/bad? know what kind of box to mount?
i have a pioneer gm-x862 max power of 760watt will that do?

I have never heard of them but for some reason they give me the feeling of a sub that you would purchase from Checker/Schucks/Craigen or walmart... I'd just hook the thing up and see how it sounds.....

I just did some quick searches/reading on those subs and I think I'm way off.... it would appear that they are really nice, they claim an octave lower than most subs in a sealed box and 22mm of travel....let us know how it sounds.

It is a decent brand. never hear one in person though. but thru the years I never really heard bad talk about them. I kno that the higher models are said to be good and need a lot of power to push them.

yeah its a high powered sub i think. does my amp power have to match the sub's rms?

i read another post and found the answer to that question.... kinda. i think it said i can run lower power to the sub than its rms but it wont sound as good and that if i try to make up for it with volume/gains i might still blow the sub. but i dont thinks thats possible with a 1500watt max sub and a 760watt max amp right? because the amp will never reach that high of a spike?

i'm still a lil confused but i think im ok i just really want to know how to mount this sub and passive disc

im not tryin for a masterpiece but thats just a few setups that might be possible? does anybody know which one will work?
