Hey guys, Im new to the site and want to say whats up to everyone first of all. Second I have a problem with my 1992 honda accord lx backfiring. Some times it runs like a champ and then others it backfires like crazy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello Viper6..

to the HAF ...
Here are but a few things that could be causing the backfireing of your Honda car.
Fuel Injection system malfunctioning
Faulity ignition system, cracked plugs or wires, cracked distributor cap or rotor
This will give you a few areas to check out..hope this helps you!

Thanks for the welcome and thanks for the advice, some of those were already on my mind, the distributor, wires and spark plugs. Do you think the timing could be off slightly?

Yes, that can also be your problem..goes hand & Hand with the rest of the parts checking...

no i would say that the timing is probably fine. your distributor might be going bad, but its actuall location right now is probably perfect. sounds like a plug that might be bridged, or a bad wire
