Engine code

Ok, I did a search for this, and didn't come up with alot of info for my application. How do I find my engine code, do I actually have to look on the block? I did a carfax, as mentioned in thread here. I'm looking for the non vtech in my signature.

Engine code stamp is located to the right of the exhaust manifold.  Easily seen by opening the hood if you know where to look.
