I was wondering if anyone has swapped Accord motors with Civic motors. To me they seem to be similar...but what do i know...not much i can assure you. I have been told by one person that it can be done. But i dunno. I have a 86 accord lxi...leakin oil bad from rear....reallly really bad. and i have a 92 civic with engine less than 60k..So tell me what ya think

I'm sure it could be done, but until just within the past few years the motors on Accords have been larger and more powerful than the Civic counterparts. Civics generally ran 1.8-2.0L while Accords ran 2.2L  Part of this was because Civics were smaller, had smaller engine bays, so samller motors were built. (also had a lot to do with economy and cost factors). IT would be easier for yo uto find a newer accord motor and swap it into yours than try to swap a civic motor in.

Search www.3geez.com - I've heard of guys swapping B16's into the older accords.

i wouldnt really see the point in it, I mean iam sure you gonna run into torque problems, considering the accord is heavier then the civic. But other then that it should run fine i guess.

I have a similar situation I have a 94' accord LX and it just has about 213000 mi. on it and i dont know if I can trust it. So I was wondering if i could swap it out with a newer or same year engine with just lower miles or maybe a v-tec. if i could find one. Can anyone tell me what engines can be successfully swapped without any mods.
