so out of anger a couple weeks ago when my car was having problems running/starting i kicked the fender... made a big dent in it... any suggestions on how to bump it back out? like would it hurt if i took the fender off, laid it on some towels so it wouldnt hurt the paint, and pound it back out with a rubber mallet? if thats a bad idea... whats some other approaches you may suggest me to do besides taking it to the body shop.... not a big spender on stuff that could be done myself.

I'd try pounding it out myself first, and use a body shop as the 2nd step if necessary.

take it off and use a rubber mallet, sometimes it's handy/easier to have a 6" piece of a 2x4 (wood) and put that on the dent and pound on the wood... it's worth a shot if you can't do it then pay someone to do it or see if you can find a new fender in a junk yard for cheap...

LMAO!

I never thought about it that way!  Instead of filling the tank, I will avoid gas inflation by purchasing a new car every 400 miles!  Gosh, you really cant get enough of that new car scent can you?

Have you tried to take it to a dent wizard ( paintless dent repair place).   I have 2 small dents in my car from someone opening their car door on it and it cost me only 100 dollars to fix it.  Might want to check and see if you have a place like that where you live.
