Dont think we have on-line takeaway food but lots of home delivery outfits. Italian grub is third most popular. Top of the tree is Indian food - supposedly, we have more Indian restaurants that they do in India. Second is Chinese. Could order from around the corner but delivery is by a 50cc moped so it might be a bit tepid by the time you get it.

Prescription for a perfect night out in Newcastle, world's 5th most popular party city, is 10 - 12 pints of Stella Artois [Belgian head-banging beer] followed by a Madras curry [a very serious proposition] then throw up and pass out. Regarding the Madras, best to keep your toilet roll in the fridge to alleviate ring burn. [OMGTMI]

Sounds like the ethnic version of america's Football with beer and hotwings... except I unfortunatly rarely puke so I just get overly blitzed and wake up half drunk....

Maybe you should go for Stella [can you get it ?] instead of the cat's p...
Nice to see that both US and UK are drunken barbarians - hands across the water. I think however that you may be the more refined. Newcastle on a saturday night is like the Vikings never left - rape, pillage and looting. Fortunately [check spelling] Newcastle slopes down to the river so throwing up runs downhill. The law has a jolly time .

I rarely drink american beer (except micro brews) unless it's got a high alchol content... I drink a decent amount of Bud Ice (5.5% alchol) or Kokanee (about the same) then when people come over to hang out and drink beer they usually bring the cheap stuff like bud light or some crap like that and it goes down like water... European beer is MUCH better though but when it gets imported to the states it looses a lot of it's best qualities so it doesn't taste the same plus I think they lower the alchol content to meet regulations...
When I came home from my vacation in Germany and told my friends about cola beer they looked at me like I was nuts for putting cola in the beer until they tried it *L*

When I was much younger, the popular drinks with the Young Dudes were Black Velvet - Guinness and strong cider [supposed to be champagne not cider] and Snake Bite - heavy lager and heavy cider. The key to good imports is never drink anything out of a can and always drink bottled at origin. Some European beers are made under licence in other countries. If you can find it, try Pilsner Urquel brewed in Czech republic for centuries and the brewing vats are underground carved out of the natural limestone [stone vats !] The first few have to be forced down - extremely hoppy and bitter.

SI LOVE pilsner Urquel but it is COMPLETELY different tasting in the states even though it's directly imported. When I had it in Germany I loved it and drank LOTS of it then I got home and had a few and was severly dissapointed. Still better than most of our mass produced domestics but no where near as good as the fresh stuff... Guiness is the same way, much smoother in europe...

Gee what a fun time!
I enjoy Madras curry right here at home. My Coventry gal was actually born in India and she also makes a very good Vindaloo. We keep the toilet paper in the bathroom but also keep a bucket of ice there after eating Vindaloo.

Bingo ! Gotcha cowboy ! Well ,its 7pm and its been a glorious day - bright sunny and cold enough to freeze them off a brass monkey. NO FOG repeat NO FOG. Just to give you a flavour of my life, Today I had tea and toasted teacake in a castle built by the Normans in the 11th century in Wensleydale. The idle retired life. How was your day ?
Tea? I take it they were out of Strongbow?
Today was good for me as well, thank you. Mid 70's today with a nice breeze.....perfect for my normal shorts & T-shirt attire. 5:30P here and enjoying a Tennessee bourbon whiskey with spring water. Location is in

Greetings to your sainted Coventry lass. You are truly blessed. Vindaloo a bit industrial strength for me. India - yes - got some news from there to share. Imagine a 4-door, 5 seat mini car which does 60 mpg and tops 65 mph. 0.6 litre Bosch engine with cvt transmission, manufactured by TATA which has already made 4 million cars. Before you start sniggering, this company is buying Jaguar and Land Rover after already buying the largest steel company in the UK. They plan to export 1 million p.a. to Europe. Now, hang on to something solid, the price will be £1200 - no, i'm not joking, thats $2400 roughly. Full story plus other motoring stuff
www.sundaymirrorco.uk Quentin Willson's column [he was part of Top Gear some years back.]
By- bye Fiat and all other mini car makers !

You didn't see how strong the tea was ! What's the matter with Texas whisky then ? Sub-zero again, I can see icebergs and polar bears in the North Sea from my window [only joking but you wouldn't go into the North Sea even in what passes for high summer here - it comes straight off the ice cap].
Going to up the castle ante now. After lunch I plan to do bit shopping in the City of Durham next door [the original]. City has finest Norman Cathedral in Europe [900 years old ] and a castle. The city itself has a recorded history of 2000 years but was already an established fort 500 years before the Roman Army built a huge military camp there.
Not really shouting the odds but where you live shapes who you are. When you walk along streets which were walked by Roman legionaries you get an odd shiver in your soul.
I imagine you would get a similar twitch at the Alamo or have I seen to many movies ?
I once visited Stonehenge which was old when the pyramids were built and, oh boy, did I feel it there !

Tourists enjoy going to the Alamo but Texans hold it in high regard, especially those of us born in San Antonio. I'll be heading "home" to San Antonio in ten days to see friends and to polish/buff/detail a Chevy truck for one of those friends. The Alamo City is a 4.5 hour drive north from where we live now.

For our esteemed English friend. TaTa's is slang here for "Tits". Example: She has bodacious TaTa's. Translation: Very generous chest.....enough to make you look twice. If she gets a chest cold then she's sure to pass away!
