it can be done but it slightly comprimises the structural integrity of the body, it allows a little bit more body roll than normal.  Some people have made them into converitables

is there anything that can be done to fix this integrity issue or is it just gonna be that way?

Well you would have to support the areas involving the A,B, and C pillars because it no longer can rely on the roof at all. Wouldn't suggest taking any REAL sharp turns unless you did... can it be fixed?... probably... expensive... just bend over and say ow..

I bet if you slapped a roll cage in there it would fix the structutral integrity issues.  it wouldn't be pretty though

you could compensate some with a heavy mid-body brace (would have to be custom) and chasis reinforcement including a custom X-brace.  You'd also need a good suspension and swaybars.  even then, your car's rigidity would still be a bit weaker than expected, but the car would handle better than stock.

A roll cage that was built properly would completely compensate for the lack of roof.

Key word in there: PROPERLY

But, your accord would have an ugly roll cage, taking away the appeal of a convertible

Viper, don't take this personally please, this is for the entire forum.

Thread titles like "Got a question", "Help please", "What do you think" and "What's next" are totally useless!!!!  This thread would benefit more from a USEFUL title like "T-Top, possible?" or "Targa accord?" or "Roof modifications".    There are so many of the same useless titles on here that I have trouble remembering which conversation is from what thread because of this.   Let's see some better titles poeple!!!!

if you built a rool cage in and followed your Pillar lines you could slightly conceal it from external view.  Keep in mind that you'd probably have to weld it while in the car so you'd need to strip your car down first but it would add some style and safety.  Also, you'd want to make certain that your roof cross bars were above  your head so there was no chance of busting your skull open on them in a minor accident.

Wanna hear something REALLY crazy??  Had a bud back in high school...named Pete ( I say bud because we werent really FRIENDS...tolerated each other then till later years when we bacame ok friends)  well anyways....he took a chevy chevette hacked the roof off ENTIRELY...full vert done....and he decided he wanted to make it a 100 vert...so he removed the side windows, custom fabbed the doors, closed off the tops of the doors where the windows would normally roll up...the rear window area...which had been cut out...fully closed off...custom made panels by himself....entire car was a trip to see and ride in....and the rollcage he buit all tied into the car and actually looked graceful in the car....he modded the nose...the sides, the rear section...lowered......basically in a 4 year span, he built a completey custom Chevette...complete with a V6 in place of the original 4 banger.

Wish I had pics of that car now....it was a quite amazing little car after he was done.
