help with stereo

i bought my car from someone and the stereo memory does not work. so when i set my settings and turn the car off and turn it back on the song starts at the begining and all the levels are set back to what they were. is there a fuse for this that might be blown or is there another wire thats always hot that i could tap into. i also have a question about speaker size what size speakers fit the front on a 91 year model?
