I have a 99 accord coupe(to the left), and I am wondering how my (H) and (accord) emblems on the trunk are attached? Are they glued or what? I want to replace them with aftermarket ones like this:

typically they have two little posts that run through/into the trunk and are held on by a double sided style of foam sticky tape as well as the two screws.... pop your trunk and look at it from the inside...

I know on some older vehicles they are actually glued on. I can't remember the trick that used to debond the glue..I'll research that and post it when I find it.

i have '00 accord coupe.. the H has pins, the accord is jst glue.. i suggest get this stuff called "goo gone".. you can find it at any hardware store for around 5 bucks.. use a credit card or floss to take off the accord sign and then the goo gone to take off the rest of the glue.

Thanks for the info. I work at my dad's car lot and he has some of the goo gone, so I will be removing them soon. Do u guys think I should leave the (accord) off and just put the (H) emblem on or vice versa. I'm thinkin of leaving the (H) off and put the accord emblem in the middle of the trunk. Any suggestions? Thanks again.

funny thing i peeled mine off today to spray it black on my 05 coupe. the dealer ship told me to use a heat gun to take it off. it does have to pins but thats just there for guidance. but today was pretty hot and my car was baking in the sun so that wasnt needed. I grabbed a tiny slim tip flat head screw driver wrapped the tip of the screwdriver in a microfiber cloth and got under the badge... put alittle bit of pressure... and mine jsut popped right off. got pretty lucky. the new badge should come with two way sticky tape.... clean the area where the badge used to be. the dealer told me to use alittle bit of rubbing alcohol to get most, if any glue left behind, but dont let it sit. rub in try to get most off and whip off. even wipe after with water just to make sure u really get the rubbing alcohol off. try to clean it up pretty good. and apply ur new one. good luck. let me know if that helps

I took off my Accord and V6 emblem the same night I drove the car home. It is just double sided tape. Heat it up real good and it will come right off. I am wanting a new "H" emblem though, where are you getting yours from online or local?

I might get one off ebay. I may just use what I have and rearrange them or leave them completely off.

If you leave the H emblem off you'll have those two little "guide" holes to deal with (fill in or something..)

Yeh I am planning on putting the (accord) emblem right on top of those holes to cover them.

Get some monofilament fishing line (heavy) and run it behind the emblem you wish to remove. If it goes a 1/4" and stops dead , regardless of your efforts to "saw" it off, then there's likely a pin. If it goes all the way through then it's just glue and the emblem will come off. As previously mentioned goof off or goo gone will remove the sticky which will need to be sealed or waxed once you are done. Pins through the metal will need to be filled and painted by a pro.

goof off would not be somthing id recoment using on your car as it is a solvent. it will start to strip off the clear coat and the paint go with goo gone as it is more of a cleaner
