Thanks to Finch I now have a spare center console trim and am planning to customize it some way. I might use the new one to practice on or what not.
Anyways,
any ideas as to what I can do? I am thinking of painting it, and maybe adding some of the flexible neon in a creative way. Or I was thinking of possibly (if wires are long enough etc...) switching around places, like maybe making the cd player sit where the hazzard button and clock currently sits. And what about fiberglassing? I know absolutely nothing about it other than it looks cool, so just wondering if its expenisve and if I could lay it over the current trim. I also thought it would be SWEET if I could somehow make the whole thing, or parts of the trim clear then coat it with NiteShades and have lighting underneath!

Forgot,
If I paint it among other things, how should I do this? Ex: Surface prep, which paint....etc

What i have seen that looks good is a texture sheet (dont really know what its called, guessing) they make some that looks like carbonfiber you cut it out glue it down then clear coat over it to give it the 'glossy' appearence. I will try to get more info on it 4 u.

A flush mounted in-dash would be sexy. Loving the clear idea with lighting!

Well I have no idea how I would create a clear console trim ring, so I bought a small square of acrlyc (sp?).
I would love to have a flush screen in there but I cant afford that and I am trying to save up for rims.
Anyways, my idea is to customize the square where the stereo and pocket are.
I will put the clear acrlyc in there, NiteShade it with an inlay of a honda logo, then make the stereo in the center, and put some leds behind the NiteShades. I cant really explain it any better.....trying to study for a math test soon! lol
If it all works out n' such I shall post some pics. Also wanna maybe paint the trim.

for painting options, look at duplicolor and alsacorp. Alsacorp has the best car paint in a can, but the price is pretty steep. I plan to do my emblems with duplicolor base and clearcoat with Alsacorp's ghostchrome mid-layer to get to a black chrome finish. They really have some crazy paints out there though.

I wonder if you could media blast acrylic. That would give it a nice frosted look with a glossy H in it. I would throw a 4" cold cathode behind it, not LED's. They just don't diffuse light well enough to give an awesome glow.

I will check out that paint!
Well I already have leds, I figured out that to diffuse the light you have to sand down the curved part of the led head! So after finals ill be trying it out.
