I need to get educated

Alright guys so its time to help me out here. I am semi familiar with rims and tires but I am realizing that there is still alot more that i need to learn so i dont screw something up.
 
I have a 2001 honda Accord Ex V6 AT 4door.
 
I do know about aspect ratios and have decided i want to put on some nice looking rims. Im looking at 18's and in doing so i need to get tires to match the aspect ratio and those will b 225/45/18. Or am i completly wrong on that?
 
My future plans are to also get eibach lowering springs to maybe a drop of 1.5inches depending on real life.
 
so my question is what else do i need to know? I see in posts that people are talking about off sets and some other things along those lines. do i need to worry about that? and with a wider wheel and tire will it hit my fender when i lower it at all?

I'd look at 7.5" wide rims with a 45 offset for your car.  Tough to say if they will rub on full turns, but they shouldn't.  WheelBrokerAng may be able to help you better than I can.  Glad to see that you want to learn first!

You would be better off with a 225/35/18 tire on those rims..you still may have to modify those fender wells to tuck them in-side..

225/40 or 225/45 will fit, I'm assuming you arent dropped since you didn't mention it so you shouldn't have any rubbing issues given that you get the proper sized offset on the wheels.

A 225/35-18 would be way too small (diameter) on that car--about 5-6% slow.

225/40-18 (2% slow) and 215/40-18 (0.4% slow) would be the best options to keep everything right, with the 215 being the closest in diameter to the stock 205/65-15 tire. The 215 should also have less rolling resistance and offer slightly better fuel economy than the wider 225 series tire (every bit helps.) You can fin 215/40-18 Yokohama Avid W4s for about $118 each, so the price isn't too bad either. Same tire in 225 size is about $3 more...though there are quite a few more options out there for the 225/40-18 size than the 215/40-18.
