Inner Tie Rod Boot Removal

Hey all! Not sure if this is the right forum but I couldn't post in the DIY section so I'll ask it here...

I'm rebuilding the suspension on my Mom's 91 Accord (new tie rods, lower ball joints, upper arms, sway bar end links, etc) and have just about everything done except for the inner tie rods. I just can't figure out how to get the boot clamps off! (#2 and #6 http://www.allensrule.com/13SM40.009.3.gif ) I've done the same job on my Acura Legend and the clamps were completely different. I'm almost to the point where I just want to cut the clamps off and zipper tie em on! I was going to just replace the outers because I think they're the only ones that are worn (164k on the originals) but I figured if I have the parts and the car in bits I might as well finish the job.

Yes you are at the correct forum 

#6 should have a small phillips head screw, though it might be in a hard to get to angle.
Sometimes you have to lube the old boot with silicone or WD-40 and spin the clamp a little bit.

#2 is just like a spring, I use a bent pick to get under the leading coil then "unscrew" it off
FWIW the aftermarket rack rebuilders use those plastic 'zip' ties in place of the screw down clamp. Those clamps are around $9 each

Thanks for your quick reply. I figured there'd be a small screw somewhere around the clamp (as on my Legend) but I couldn't see or feel one on either side. Enough of this... I'm going to just cut em off and zipper tie em on.
