So I finally installed my BomZ SRI with an AEM Dryflow filter today. I've had the SRI for about a month, but I just got around to buying the AEM filter and installing it today. Here are some before and after pics:

It only took about 30 minutes or so. The small rubber hose for the breather valve (red in the pic) was way too long so I cut a length for the breather valve and I sliced the rest down the middle and wrapped it around the A/C line to work as an insulator so the metal intake never comes into contact with the metal A/C line. I doubt it was necessary. It doesn't look like the intake tube will ever actually come into contact with the A/C line, but I wanted to use that extra tubing for something
I was surprised with the sound. I guess I was expecting more of a high pitched sucking sound. However it is only really noticeable over 3k RPM's and is actually almost a low grumble. Makes the engine sound more powerful.
Overall I am a satisfied customer
P.S. my engine has almost 120k miles.

Awwwwright. Another convert to the SRI cause! The SRI makes the car seem it has an aftermarket exhaust doesnt it?

I'll have to admit it kind of does in the higher RPM ranges. I was totally not expecting that kind of sound. Of course I only went on a short test drive. I'll find out how she really sounds/performs tomorrow on my trip to and from work. I have a feeling I am going to be wanting to get on the gas too much to hear it, so my gas mileage might suffer
I already need to get my oil changed again too

. I have put over 2100 miles on her in two weeks! I bet the oil change guys are going to look under the hood and be like "what the...when did you put that on?"

By the way, did anybody else put some tubing over their A/C line?

I did too. The AEM instructions said either do the wrap thing or something with radiator...whatever it was seemed like too much work. So I just did what you did.
P.S. i'm about 300 off of 100k...i'm gonna try and snap a picture when it hits the 100,000 mark =p

I bought the car with 104k on it. I swear the engine was clean, but not that clean when I bought it. I had the t-belt & h2o pump done at a Honda Certified shop and I think they cleaned up the engine. I didn't ask and they didn't charge anything extra for it, but when I looked under the hood I was thinking "It wasn't that clean before!" Gotta love those Honda Certified shops I guess

I put a $7 spectre boot over the intake tube to protect it from the AC line. Mine was rubbing, and since the intake tube is so thin, I was worried the AC line would rub a hole in it.

Does the filter tht come with the intake need to be replaced? Not becuz its old, but for better filtration.
A guy looked under my hood and said "Nice paper filter" in a mocking way. So it left me thinking....

If you have the ebay filter, change it to a brand name filter like aem, k&n, injen, etc..the ebay ones are crap.

If you bought an eBay filter, the answer is yes, you need to replace it. I replaced mine with an AEM Dryflow. I got it at Advance Auto Parts for about $45. I didn't want to have to oil a K&N.

The filter came with the SRI. Never changed it. So im guessing its a factory AEM filter, not an ebay filter, since i didnt go thru ebay.

Oh yeah. If you bought an AEM SRI. I bought a cheap intake off ebay, then replaced the filter. Now I do know what you mean...haha the AEM dryflow does seem pretty flimsey!
