Stock engine, with just a CAI added is probably about 4 hp on an I4 and gas mileage varies to much by driving habits to predict any gains with it you'll just have to check that yourself for you car/driving habits..

As for feeling difference.... as a rule of thumb you will not or may just barely feel a difference on anything less than a 10HP gain...

I just put one on my 99 LX 4 cylinder last weekend. Got a little extra power. But I was after a little more mileage. It went down. Its coming off today.

There's no reason why an after market intake would decrease your gas mileage unless youre driving more aggressive to hear that intake or your air filter sucks. get a good filtering air filter, Apexi power intake for example, and you will see improvements in mpg. I did anyway. clean air plays a big role in mpg.

K&N cannot really be compared with Apexi in terms of filtration and air flow. Apexi has been tested to pretty much be the best filter out there. about $100+ for one. http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/

Theyre universal, only the adapter changes. Here: http://www.gen5alive.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=503_4_187_611&products_id=596

the 80mm is about 3.15" the other one on the site is 70mm, or about 2.756" so take your pick. Then simply go to pep boys and get a double sided 3" intake tube coupler. Look at mine here.
