Hey everybody I'ved lived near LA for a couple of years and moving back to phoenix. It get up to 110ºF in the summer. How much coolent should I put in my radiator compared to the water level? Like 8:1, half and half ratio?

50/50 is what my dad recommends, he's lived in Phoenix for about 15 years now and that's what he recommends..

Peace Out

I agree with WheelBroker that 50/50 should be on the money. Do make sure that the cooling system is in top shape including belts, hoses, and water pump.

50/50 is recommended. Consider using the new Prestone all fluids/all colors mix. Be sure to use ONLY distilled/demineralized water - NEVER tap water.

87's incorporate two fans. One energizes when the A/C is switched on. The other when the engine temp reaches the thermostat designed temp, (190-195).

When it becomes necessary to sit stationary, in extremely hot conditions, with the A/C on, and when possible, face the vehicle into the wind, (if there is any), and watch the engine temp gauge.
