maybe if u went with a white lip kit, and some black rims to replace the money u would spend on a carbon fiber hood.

That's the most ignorant thing ive heard in a while here. Ive have a VIS CF hood but dont have close to 10k under there. CF hoods' most functional purpose is to reduce front end weight distribution. In case you didnt know, our FWD Accords suffer from fairly bad understeer. Other than a stiffer rear sway bar, lightening the front end helps to remedy the problem. So for me with a 60-80lbs addition to the front end because of the motor swap, a 35lbs or so reduction thanks to the CF hood does help in improving safety and overall handling performance. And yes, I painted it to match.

That's the key, though. And, you have a legitimate reason for the hood. If people just get them to copy what they see in Super Street it looks cheesy. So many people go rice and paint their hoods flat black to mimic the look, so it's hard to tell the difference from a distance. The original intent of the carbon fiber hood and all carbon fiber in general was to minimize weight while keeping the part the same strength or stronger. It was never about the looks, even though carbon fiber done right looks sexy as hell.
