hey all, I just got some OPTX Strobes in my clear corners and they look awesome. They're not the brightest, but they are pretty cool. Also, anyone know what lightbulb goes into the flip down mirrors on the visors?

When I first read this, I thought you got strobe lights in your corner lights...now that would be annoying and cause seizures.

Pictures?

I put the strobes in the headlight corner lenses. Ill post pics on the next post. Not a bad price either
OPTX strobes = $25.00
OPTX Strobe controller = $20.00
INstallation = $50.00
Total= $95-$100 with tax. Not bad if you ask me.

So they really are strobes. I pity the driver that's driving opposite to you.

I would think they would have a seperate switch, and not just be turned on as the parking lights....................but i could be wrong.

Yeah.

Oh....I was thinking like this:

But if it's like this:

Then i guess it's ok.

technically, they're legal. They're white. I know blue, red, and purple are illegal. maybe yellow. but nothing on white. I asked a policeman down the road and he got out the lawbooks. he said they were legal just don't use them 24/7

I would like to have them..............if someone is going slow in front of you turn them on and they would think you were cops and pull over, then you pass them......................i mean i wouldnt do anything illegal with them.

ill try to, they were on when i took pics, but they go very fast. I like live2rice's idea. people going slow, just flip the switch.ill try to figure out how to make my digital camera into a camcorder. I know it can, i just don't know how. Ill post with a video link in later today.

Thank god for broadband.

You know...that is pretty sweet looking. Now all you need is a siren. Just get an mp3 of a police wail or something...and then blast it with your strobe lights.

the optx kit fit directly into the parking lights. Just take the parking light bulb out of its socket and take the socket out of the lens. Just push the socket back and put the strobe light in its place. Its a direct fit, no modification needed. Just make sure you take out the lights that stay on when you park and leave the one that the signals are hooked up to. Then wire it up. Im not to electronically inclined so i had freemans hook mine up.

lol, the siren would top it off. but...funds are limited. the strobes took a chunk out of my check. Im saving the rest of my money for gas. getting paid every other week sucks.

At least you have a job, I don't. I rely on interest that collects in the bank.

that sucks. I made a new video, for some reason, the camera didn't capture some strobe flashes. I ashure you they all work. the film doesn't do them justice. lol.

it's about a $100 dollar job, thats just for front. front+back=$200
a good high performance kit cost 3-400. just look around.

I just wanna flash them at random people to get them to pull over. I already have a rotating light (orange security) that routes into the ciggie light adapter. Mounts by magnets. This would be the piece de resistance.

i wouldnt think those to be legal. But it is confirmed that they are. I could just see when your driving at night and you have them on.

Looks good though and not to much

I would have never thought those were legal either!  Are they legal in IL?  IL seems to have pretty stingent laws on lighting for cars n' stuff.
