New to Site.. wondering best engine for my accord??

i decided to bring my 96 4dr accord outta retirement.. i finally got enough money to acctually do something to it.. so the big question is which engine and tranny would be best to put in it.. my engine right now has about 240,000 miles on it but it starts up fine.. it just wont shift into second gear so i think the tranny clutch is messed up... i dont really wanna bother with all that so i just wanna get a newer setup... something faster would be nice.. BUT WHAT DO I GET!?!?!

I will go ahead and make the obvious statement: get an H22 Prelude engine.  Its the easiest and most common swap, and gives you a real nice horsepower boost as well.

I would go for the H22 as well.  Check around on the forum and online.  There are many JDM H22 dealers who sell "low mileage" H22's lots of them are coming in from Japan.  I am not sure on this, but I think you have to replace the tranny as well to be compatible with an H22.  A lot of the H22 sellers will have package deals where they sell engine & tranny together.

Okay guys , how about the H22A1 engine out of the 1993 thru 1996  Prelude SI-VTEC JDM, this is also a good choice for a easier swap-out!

ummm...actually the tranny from teh f22 will bolt up to a h22 i heard that the f22 tranny is better than the h22....people say it is smoother and i would get lsd along with it...
