Nitrous options?

What would be a safe shot to run with stock heads? Ive run nitrous before but always on heavily moded V8's and i have had some bad expierinces so im worried about running it on stock heads. Also does anyone know what my motor is...besides the obvious (3.0 Vtech)? Whats it called, compression, heads? I feel lost not knowing any of this and no one seems to be able to tell me. Thanks.

a 75 shot is common on our engines.  VTEC, no H: Variable Timing Electronic Control.  You have a J30A4, mine is an A1.

Thanks for the heads up on the H lol i know it didnt look right and i knew what it stands for so i dont know why it never clicked but ya know. and the link for the engine was very helpful. 75 shot sonds fair... any horror stories that uve herd of using one? Just so i know what to keep an eye out for.

you want the system to monitor and shut down in the event that you are running too lean.  My favorite type of activation is WOT working within a window switch.  This lets the system spray only when you are flooring it and when the engine is at the right speed.  This allows you not spray at too low an rpm and can cut off a few hundred rpms below the shift point.  Also, if you need part throttle, the spray won't hit at all.  Wet is better than dry since there's less of a risk of running lean (heats up the engine ..... this is what causes failure on engines with reasonable shots, also melts exhaust seals).  Every nitrous setup should have a bottle heater with a high pressure cutoff and a purge.  These are sold as accessories as well as the controls mentioned.
