This has likely changed but when I was in school (and Tyrannosaurus Rex roamed the earth) it went this way:
1. grades one through six was elementary school.
2. grades seven through nine was junior high school.
3. grades ten through twelve was high school, graduate at age 18.
4. college would vary but for a four year degree you would go from age 18-22, give or take.

Let's take a high school athlete that is exceptional in his or her sport, say basketball. As he/she reaches their senior year scouts from colleges around the nation try to recruit him/her to their college/university to improve their standings in the league. In return they will offer a scholarship that essentially pays most or all of the costs involved in going to college. The individual's grades must be kept up and there are other considerations but that's essentially it. Many of the large universities make a great deal of money when their teams are winners hence the recruitment and scholorships.

Wow, looks like a USDM Prelude front and USDM Civic rear. The engine bay looks exactly the same as my F22B2 though...

I think the F20 might be of the same family as F22 but UK made, comp. ratio 11:1

Yes, I believe the F-series blocks are nearly identical except for the larger 2.2L displacement marketed for us gas-guzzling power-hungry Americans and the 2.0L you have marketed for Europe along with most other 1.6L - 1.8L engines. 2.0L is pretty beefy in Europe...

Arse-end to complete the set. Please excuse vulgarity

In the UK there is a road tax break at 1.5 litre [actually 1.499litre] so small engines are popular but high comp/high rpm so that you can ring their necks. But 2l no longer considered big, it is the standard size for family saloons. 4, 5l and over once the home for exotica like RR and Bentley and such as like now becoming much more common especially in German muscle and 4 x 4. So just like we are putting on weight like you so are our cars. Change of subject slightly, i am an old time biker who keeps current with new models - Triumph are back and they have a cruiser with a 1.4 litre engine IN A BIKE !!.

that is DEFINETLY a civic read end and a prelude front end. crazyiness!
the engine bay is fairly similar except many things have been moved all over the place. I am astounded.

strange thing is that the UK Civic rear looks nothing like this, most of them are/were 3 door hatchbacks and quite slinky.

academic -
I doubt any of us here have EVER seen anything that looks like that on our shores. I'm not knocking it I'm simply saying that it is a Euro model and doesn't make it to the U.S. Just as you'll never see one that looks like mine.

Today, the Euro/UK Accord is sold here as the Acura TSX. I thought that beginning with the 5th-gen Accord the North America versions were different. It's just at that time we never saw the Euro/UK versions.

I've been trying to avoid telling you this but here the Accord is targeted at the pensioner market, the infamous blue rinse brigade. Funny, I was watching an old edition of Top gear last night. They were doing a cross comparison between Civic R, Golf GTI, Seat Leon Cupra, and some alleged hot French crap. In the Stig speed test, first was the Civic, second the Seat and third the Golf.
Clarkson said at the end that he would still buy the Golf because if you bought the Civic R, at the end of the day, you had just bought a Honda.

Here the Accord is one of the top sellers. It's #2 behind the Toyota Camry I believe. I saw many Hondas in the UK but few Accords. It crosses all paths from the young person buying his/her first car, to the young couple starting a family, to old farts like me. It covers a broad spectrum of buyers and is synonymous with quality and reliability. If you are fortunate enough to acquire one actually made in Japan (see my J-Spec icon) you have a coveted piece of machinery that is the best of the crop.
