Hey Honda Peeps! I have a '99 Accord and want to paint my dash and all my panels. I've heard that I need to clean all the panels (obviously) , then spray on some primer and sand down (repeat 2-3 times), finally paint with vinyl paint and then clearcoat. Is this the right process? If so, what kind of primer and paint do I use?

i honestly cant say i know the process to do it but it depends how you want it to look. the primer and sand sounds about right. if you want it smooth i heard you can use fiberglass resin to smooth it out then you paint it. unless you can achieve it with that primer and sanding (lots of primer and sanding)

oh btw i looked at your gallery normally i dont like altezzas but you picked out a nice one very clean car two thumbs up

I painted all of my interior, well 90% of it including the seats. There is a paint you can use that you can get at a local parts shop. I got mine from Advance Auto Parts. Cost $6 a can and I used like 10. What you do is wipe everything off with alcohol really well. Everything will look really dull. Next, prime it with some sandable primer. After that you can sand it a little of it just to get it smooth, I didn't. I like that it looks stock just a different color. After that apply 3-4 coats of paint and make sure it covers well then clear it. I will take some pics of my interior tomorrow to show you. I did however remove my dash. Its a pain, but well worth it.

Good Luck !
