security code for stereo

does anyone know if u need a code to reinstall a factory stereo in a 98 accord?

I would think so.  I had a 98 Civic that had to have one and both my 02 and 04 Accords have had to have one.  If you have the serial # off the back of the stereo, any Honda dealership can look the code up for you.
