This isn't the first time that Hyundai has stolen the look of an Accord. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, may I please present to you Item #225,000,000,000,000,000,000, the 1992 Hyundai Sonata.
And Item #1, the 1992 Honda Accord
Bas***ds switched the turn signal with the brake light and thought they were sneaky.

And don't think they stopped at Honda. Oh, heavens no, that would be a sin.

They've even started copying Toyota.

I've seen that a couple of times.... There is another example of similar stuff they've done.... it's kind of funny that they don't get into trouble for it....
Well, they can't. I'm sure that they get yelled at by Honda and Toyota and other companies, but there's nothing that they can do about it. All they have to do is change the lights a little bit or change something small about the car, slap their name on it, and then put it on the market.

You know what, Hyundai is really starting to piss me off. Now, after Honda has come out with the Fit, their first small hatchback, Hyundai is coming out with their first, too.

those sneaky koreans...and once they modification the schematics....they're home free.
now if they start stealing pieces of honda's engine...that'll be an issue.

Why is everyone hating on Hyundai? Its not like auto manufacturers havent been stealing design cues and engineering ideas from each other for years. And Hyundais sell pretty darn well, so apparently they are doing something right. They actually make a pretty good car.

yeah, they can make them for cheaper by taking other companies leftovers ^_- lol
I know poser, and I agree with you on the fact that they have been stealing ideas from each other all along, but it's just the fact that they do it way too much that makes me kind of mad. And I'm not doubting that they make a good car, I'm just saying that they should at least try and make and sell that good car by themselves instead of looking at other companies to steal their ideas and designs so often.
I mean, look at all these examples again. They did the same switcharoo with the lights on the Hyundai Entourage like they did with the 1992 Accord.

Hyundai Entourage
I have to go eat dinner, I'll be back in a minute, but I've got more examples.

Okay, let it go dude. And in case you dont know, you cant compare Kia and Hyundai, because they are sister companies. Its like saying that Ford is copying Lincoln.
I know they're sister companies, but come on. I just think it's stupid. Don't worry, I have let it go, I'm just pointing stuff out.

Yeah, but pointing out similarities between Hyundai and Kia is stupid. Thats like pointing out how a Chevy looks like a GMC, or a Dodge and a Plymouth.

Yeah vTec, they've already discussed the Sonata in an old post, and that's why this is titled Sonata...not the first time... And I was about to put the pictures of the Jag up, too. So, nice catch. No one can copy a Jag.

Oh i see my bad i didnt realize they had already posted it... it just makes me mad ! Espically when people say they dont really copy ?!?!?... like how can you honestly say that? Oh well.. just another one of those things
Yeah, it makes me mad, too. They could at least steal everything but the design, that way no one would know.

People buy them because they have a great warranty and the amount of options you get for the price is pretty good. Also, the fit and finish is excellent. Right now the wifes next car is either going to be an 07 Sonata or an 07 Accord, it just depends on who will give me the better deal.
Oh, it'll probably end up being a Sonata. I gurantee it.

I dont know, it depends on what kind of "new model year closeouts" they have. I plan on buying after the 08s come out, so they will need to get rid of the still new 07s... Dealerships can get pretty eager to deal around that time

compare the matrix, versa, focus hatchback, and the fit and I bet you'll find a number of similarities.... then toss the daewoo and civic hatchback in there and you'll be shocked....

what's the warranty that the sonata offers?
poser_pilot6
3/29/2007 6:10:51 PM
10yr/100k miles powertrain, 5yr/60k miles bumper to bumper, 7yr/unlimited miles no rust, 5yr/unlimited miles free 24/7 roadside assistance. Thats the warranty for all new Hyundais.

That is understandable.I dont mind that people have them, but me personally i could never own one without the feeling that i was trying to look like some other car ... just seems too generic to me. But you cant beat a good warrenty
