I feel like ranting today. My friend has in his Accord a Japanese Mugen gauge cluster, and his speedometer reads up to 180. Upon further inspection, I read that the large, bold print read km/h, and the small print read mph. I soon saw that his speedometer went up to 180 km/h, or 110 mph. Well, this dumbass argued with me that the large outer numbers were actually mph, so I tried to explain to him that because it was imported from Japan, the speedometer will be in metric, but he didn't listen. I then told him that it is possible to get the needle to sync up with the numbers so that when the needle is on 20, he is going 20 mph instead of 20 km/h. Again, he didn't listen. He asks me why the car would then only go up to 110 mph? I guessed that the car would be governed at slightly over 110 mph (I don't know really. It's a 94-97 Accord 4 cylinder engine). So, I pulled out my converter on my phone and started converting numbers and comparing them to those on my 97 Accord. I tried to show him that his speedometer was in metric whereas mine was in U.S. Well, I could bet him $100 if I wanted on this because I have legitimate proof with the conversions from mph to km/h. Anyway, it just pisses me off that he doesn't believe what I say. He says the website says the speedometer can go up to 180 mph. What a lie. What do you think?

tell him to drive by one of those speed display things the police put out. or tell him to get it up to 180, because an accord cant do anywhere close to 180mph.

most 94-97 accords are governored at 120 anyway.... I'm also curious if you know what website he bought it from. Perhaps he misread it....

Nono, let him "think" that his Accord is going 180 "mph"...then race him.

i agree teabag him right away. I know my car reaches 120 and then the govenenor kicks in. So this guy just wasted money on a jdm/mugen gauge cluster.

accords (non EX or V6 models) are limited to 118mph or 189 kmph that is most likely why the speedo stops there

What a fruit loop!
When people think things like that, or however fast there speedometer says they think thats their max speed of their car drives me nuts!
You may as well sucker him outta some cash by driving along someone else with both cars going their top speed. A car going 180 should be pulling away from a car going 120 pretty nicely dont you think?!

Bet 50 bucks, but you'll owe me the 10% idea fee!
