yea, most likely I'll do it myself with a bottle of wd-40 by my side.

But with bushings, you have a choice of aftermarket or oem.

Thanks so much dude!  Maybe a can of pb blaster too?  Are you in stockton?  I'm in Modesto.

Keep me updated on what parts you use and how install goes.

$400 was for the bars and installation.  If you're going to install an OEM bar, I'd recommend poly aftermarket bushings.  If the car is dropped more than an inch, the car cannot BE aligned and a kit is required for the alignment to be done.

At local acura dealer for a 2004 tl:

swaybar
46.10

brackets
2.18 each

bushings
2.89 each

Seems pretty reasonable.  Anyone know anywhere cheaper?

New bolts are needed or can existing bolts be used?

I hear you on that.  I have the money too but don't want to spend it.  Maybe i'll ask my gf for it for christmas or something lol.  Price is pretty darn good at acura of modesto, so maybe I might do it sometime in october.  Who knows!  Still waiting for cardomain to ship out my strut bar....freaking slow pokes.

lol I have to quit spending money on my car, I have already invested about 3k+ and I need to save money for next year when I'm  moving to SF.
But $140 for a progress sway bar wont hurt haha

Ack!  Cardomain discontinued the NRG strut bar I ordered!  I think i'll just use a TL.  What year TL would I need to get a strut bar from?

If you want a NRG strut bar get one from ebay or from this link http://prostreet.zoovy.com/product/NRGTNB402
I wouldnt go with ebay though since the guy I bought it from is the only seller for the application for our car and when I recieved the item, screws and some pieces were missing since he didnt have the common courtesy to safety package the item. But I got it to work after finding some rubber pieces.

Cool man!  I'll look into that site for sure.  Thanks again for the help!  I just ordered an oem rear sway bar, bushings, and brackets for 6mt tl from an acura dealer online for about 41 bucks!

If I wanted to get an oem strut bar for a tl, which years?  2000?  2004?  Anybody know?

i'd go with the 2003 model since it's the last model of the 2nd gen tl and most of it's parts can be swap into the accord.

Not that I want you to spend more money than you have to, but...

You may want to consider picking up new sway bar links too.  I could not get mine off to save my life!  The locknut will back off part way, but once it hits those rusted threads, forget it.  Sawzall w/ a metal-cutting blade to the rescue.  Unless you live in the south with no snow/no salt.

You jinxed me! My problem was keeping the darn allen wrench steady.  Now that i've stripped the bolt, I know how to keep it steady.  Learn from mistakes...
