Just got some new TL rims 17" replacing OEM 16" for 03 Accord LX V6.

Tire Size:
OEM 16" -  205/60/16
TL 17" - 235/45/17

Is there anything i need to do to be able to use these tires & rims.  Change spedometer?

I believe those tires are slightly larger in diameter than stock.  That means your speedometer will be off by a little bit, just have someone get up to 60 mph and set their cruise then pace them and see how far off your speedometer is and make mental adjustments as you drive... you'll quickly get used to it.

Has anyone else done this?  I have an 06 TL and I am considering buying a 03-04 Accord EX as a third car... will the stock 235/45/17 tires fit on the Accord with no issues?  I know it's wider than factory but I was wondering if anyone has done this?

Thanks in advance.

Just as an aside, an easier way to check speedometer accuracy is to use a handheld GPS receiver.  These receivers will tell you how fast you are going based on very accurate satellite readings instead of estimating forward progress by wheel diameter.

Wow, thanks for the detailed response.  I did the swap and I think it looks awesome!  The 17" TL wheels look great and they have not rubbed at all.  What a difference a standard wheel that is very "normal" on the TL makes when placed on a 2003 Accord EX.  I will post pics when I have a minute... I think it turned out great.

Thanks for the info again.

I'm thinking about going this route for new wheels on my Accord.  I'd love to see some pics to see how yours turned out.  I've been trolling craigslist for the past week looking for a good deal on some wheels.

So here are the pics:  Like I said before 2003 EX-L with the 06 TL wheels.

I like how it turned out...

I've been searching to see someone else who's done it.  I didn't get mine on yet, but will post pics as soon as the wheels arrive.  I'm really surprised this isn't a more popular mod....looks great.
